My students wish to make drawings related to their experiences in their day to day lives. On the basis of pictures they will write the stories of their lives. I have asked them to prepare ppts. or wmv for this project. I hope their writing skills and vocabulary develop through participation in this Project.
This picture was made by Jyoti of class-7th B. She tells about one day of her life thus:
"Hello friends, I wish to share the experience of a day from my life. I hope you will like and enjoy my story.
I remember that day because I went to a picnic spot with my parents. My father is a teacher in a School and finds little time to spend with family. Anyhow he got time and took us to a nearby hill station where we stayed for a whole week. I often feel bore living in school campus so I am in look for a chance to enjoy my freedom. I can enjoy only during vacations with my parents although my house is quite near my School JNV Bhiwani. That day I felt so good because I could see hills and colourful flowers all around. My mother also enjoyed too much. My father was also looking happy. We could watch the beauty of nature. There was no worry or hurry. Sometimes we all need leisure hours to get rid of all our daily chores. Going out on a trip can refresh us. I picked flowers and ran and ran till I got tired. I enjoyed food and snacks. During that trip I enjoyed that day the most. I wished if I could spend all days of my life in midst of nature but I know it is not possible.

"I want to tell you about a day I can never forget in my life. When I was enjoying my vacation in my village I used to go to morning walk daily. One early morning I was walking through a green field. Just then I saw a girl in front of me. She had tears in her eyes and her clothes were torn. I was wondering what happened to that girl. I have never seen that girl in my village before. I stopped to ask her the reason of her sadness. She told me that they had come from a distant place of India to search for work here. Her father could not find work here so they thought to return back to their place. As they even had no money to eat how could they have money for their return tickets. Her father got ill and her mother was helpless. She was roaming here and there to seek help. I was moved to hear her sad story, in India people suffer a lot due to poverty. I assured to help her and took her to my home. I was sure that my kind parents would surely help her in this time of need. I was right, my father sent a doctor to examine her father. My mother called her mother to help her in domestic chores. Now they could hope to fill their stomachs at least. In a few days her father recovered and started helping my father in fields. We gave them a room in our house to live. Now whenever I visit home during vacations I find them very happy. That girl calls me "bhaiya" (means brother). We play together. Her parents thanks me for helping their family. Really that day gave me an opportunity to be of any help to a needy family. Perhaps God sent me there and I met that girl. Friends everyday of life is meant to do good of others in some way.
I can never forget the day when I had to send back Flat Stanley Tinkerbelle from France. For a whole month she was our guest and students did not wish to part from her. Jean David of a French School sent it to our School and we all thought he was a girl! Anyhow we packed things to be sent back with Tinkerbelle with a few photographs and ornaments. My father was driving car and I was sitting at back seat. I was remembering all days spent with her. How she was welcomed to our School and every student was curious to touch her. Along with her a hand written diary by Jean was there. We wrote our answers to all questions. It felt so bad to part from her. When we reached the post-office of city it was already late so my father asked me to put her in a new envelope with other things to be sent. I did everything reluctantly. I still remember that tears rolled down my cheeks when she was handed over to a clerk. Often inanimate things become dear to us more than living beings. My precious possession was no more with me. I learnt what is the sense of loss for the first time!
I remember the day when we celebrated Dussehra Festival in School campus. I am in class 6th and came here in month of July. I wept for hours when I joined School. But gradually I learnt to adjust here. We have to celebrate festivals here. For many students it is quite exciting experience. I thought I would get bored here but it was not so. When we gathered to set fire to effigy of Ravana it was the best experience of any festival's celebrations in my life. I came to know if we celebrate together it is more enjoyable. Think above 500 students and staff gathered for celebrations! The effigy was made by senior classes' boys and it was so beautiful. All clapped when it was set to fire. Boys had brought fireworks and crackers. Sweets were distributed among us. Although there was no pomp and show still the spirit was there. I was not sorry to be here. I learnt about the joy of celebrating together.
